New Sweden - Old Time Swedish Favorites

A sampling of old time Swedish and Swedish-American favorites in commemoration of the founding of New Sweden on the East Coast of the United States in 1638 and the beginning of mass immigration in the 1840s.The first commercial recordings of Swedish instrumental music were made in the early 1900s in New York City by immigrant musicians. Much of this music is considerably older than the dates when it was finally published or recorded. These popular folk dance music and folk songs were thus preserved.
