Svestar

Sparkling play fun, musical play and a big dynamic range characterize the Danish folk quartet Svestar (Anne Roed Refshauge, Vocal, Kirstine Sand, Violin, Kirstine Elise Pedersen, Cello and Marie Sønderby, Piano). Music contains everything from dazzling instrumental numbers to beautiful ballads with a Nordic and Celtic touch. The Danish folk scene is in a rapid development these years and Svestar is an extremely exciting part of this development. The limits are constantly in motion for what folk music is and can be. Svestar has a musical curiosity, a background with both classical music and folk music and, above all, a great passion for finding new expressions with a solid foundation in tradition.
