Originally believed to be a half-size version of a Viking ship, it is actually a 1920's-style 42ft. fishing boat with Viking decorations added. The Leif Erikson boat, built in Norway, sailed across the Atlantic ocean and through the Great Lakes with a crew of three Norwegians and one Swede, arriving in Duluth in 1927, where it is the centerpeice of Leif Erikson Park. What a big adventure for a such a small boat!
