TATTING

Tatting is a form of lace making that uses either a shuttle or a needle to make double half-hitches over a core thread. It makes a lace that looks very delicate, but is actually quite sturdy. In Swedish, tatting is known as frivoliteter, a reference to the "frivolous" look of the lace. Traditionally, tatting is used to make edgings, but projects can range from small tatted motifs to decorate cards, to bedspreads to full works of art!
