Henning Borgund Stave Church
A model of one of the most iconic churches in Norway, Borgund. The structure is incredibly well preserved since it’s construction around 1180, with dragon head details and a style that reminds us of viking times. 6”
Henning Engelsen carved his first wooden figures in 1947 and the following year, founded Henning. After a workshop was built in the idyllic village of Kapp, and employees hired, the business grew steadily and became one of the leading Norwegian souvenir makers. Henning contributed to the tradition of Norwegian carving and continues to take inspiration from nature and folklore. Engelsen remained the creative source for Henning throughout his life and passed the business on to his three daughters.
