On a little island in Sweden there is a little house in the shape of a hat, called Hat Cottage. The children of Hat Cottage promise to be good when their mother rows to the mainland for the day to buy yarn. They try to be helpful by sweeping the chimney, but their good intentions soon turn to mayhem as one thing leads to another. What awaits their mother when she comes home?
