Carl Larsson (1853–1919) captures the joys of everyday life in the Swedish countryside with his  works of art, featuring his wife, children, neighbors and friends.  After Larsson and his family moved into their country cottage, Lilla Hyttnäs, he found artistic inspiration in visitors, relatives, and the house itself (for which his wife, artist Karin Bergöö, did much of the interior design). The idyllic images Larsson presented in his watercolors became widely popular, influencing Swedish art and design.
