Thrummed Mittens Class

Originally devised as a way to reuse “thrums,” or discarded unspun wool, thrummed mittens are knit with yarn and small tufts of wool roving, to create a warm and cozy interior. The technique is hundreds of years old. As you wear your thrummed mittens, the wool roving will compress and felt, creating a soft insulating layer. This class will cover the basics of knitting mittens on double-pointed needles, with additional instruction in adding the roving.
